I too am incredibly thankful that Facebook wasn’t around when I was a child. Myspace came along when I was about 13 though and when they released all the photographs onto Google a few years ago I was absolutely horrified at the photographs I had posted of myself back then. I applied to Google to have the right to be forgotten — listing every Myspace URL for the photographs (thankfully only a handful).
And posting those pictures were my (13-year old’s) choice. I can’t imagine how it would feel to have your parents post photographs without your permission. Children need to be able to grow up without that put upon them.
