I Conquered My Biggest Fear: Here’s How
The fear itself was the biggest hurdle
What if you could overcome your biggest fear this week? What would your life look like? What would it feel like if you felt no spike in heart rate when you think about doing what you’re afraid of?
Blissful, right?
It is. I can tell you that now. Because after 13 years of fear, shame and serious anxiety, I’ve conquered my biggest fear.
Up until a fortnight ago, the idea of even driving to the local supermarket five minutes away terrified me. I mean, 120bpm, trouble breathing kind of terror.
Then, five days ago, I drove two hundred miles. Alone. And I felt fine.
Quite a turnaround huh?
How?!
If you have a fear that’s holding you back, it’s most likely an irrational fear.
No, there is nothing wrong with fear. It’s normal. Even irrational fears are normal. Most people have at least one thing that they’re irrationally afraid of. It’s fine.
It’s not what you are afraid of, it’s how you behave towards that fear.
