Argghh god. This is horrifying. I experienced something similar at a US airport when I was 22. I wasn’t strip searched but they made me answer horrible questioned, laughed at me, laughed at my text messages and the novel I was writing in a notebook and treated me like a criminal.

It traumatised me far more than I like to admit and brought tears to my eyes for years and years afterwards. I was very young and naive and it was truly one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. They sent me back to the UK and I practically kissed the British border control guy.
